Wireless Communication & Networks (WCN) Research Group
M. Liaq completed his Masters degree from Jeju National University (South Korea) in Computer Engineering from Machine Learning Lab in the fall session of 2019. Thereafter, he worked for J.AI Labs(South Korea) as Data and Optimization Engineer for over thirteen months before starting his PhD studies at Lakehead University. Prior to his MS he had already worked in industry for 3 years ( with Chanasi, Afiniti) after completing his Bachelor's in Computer Science from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. His research interests include Wireless Networks, and application of Machine Learning in Networks ( Particularly in Wireless Networks).
M. Omair Butt is pursuing Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University, Canada. He is a member of the Wireless Communication & Networks (WCN) research group. He completed his MS in Electrical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 2014 on a fully funded scholarship. He completed his BS in Telecommunication Engineering from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NU-FAST), Pakistan, in 2010. He worked as a Laboratory Instructor in the Electrical Engineering department at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), Saudi Arabia, for around six years (2016-2022). In the professional sector, he has served Cloud Data LLC in UAE (2015-2016) and Telenor in Pakistan (2010-2012). Previously he participated in several research studies and is currently focusing on wireless communication networks and closely related domains.
Sana is a Computer Engineer, she did her bachelors from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan and Masters in Computer Engineering from NUST, Pakistan. She worked as a DBA (Data Base Administrator) for an Auto company in Saskatchewan for 3 years. She is co-author in two conference papers published in SPIE. She is currently pursuing MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University. Her research interests are Wireless communication, Computer Networking and Image Processing.
Engr. Yahya Sameen Junejo graduated from Mehran UET Pakistan in 2008 with an degree in Electronic Engineering. He holds MSc degree in RF & Wireless Communications from the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK in 2011. With a diversified experience of more than 10 years, he has worked with multiple vendor companies like Huawei, ZTE and Nokia Solution & Networks Pakistan on ZONG CMPAK and Telenor Pakistan projects as a RAN Optimization Engineer. Currently, he is a PhD Scholar at the Telecommunication Department, Mehran UET, with research interest in 5G and B5G cellular networks, especially in High-Speed Mobility Management.
